Technical Support Guidelines

You can phone, fax or send email to "support" at gimpel.com

When emailing, in order to get through our SPAM filter, you will need to include either "PC-lint" or "FlexeLint" in your message. (Note because of our policy of providing free tech support, it may take a few days for us to respond to email inquiries, so if you have an urgent need, it's best to phone us)

If you have a question, please be specific. If appropriate, provide us with a small program to illustrate your question.

Check our Tech Support FAQ and Discussion Forum for possible answers to your question.

If you think you have found a bug, in most cases we need to be able to reproduce the bug before we can fix it. Please provide us the following:

a small but complete code sample to show the problem.
your lint output, or if it's massive, just the portion that illustrates the problem.
your lint banner line (showing the version number), your lint command line, and the lint options you use.
if you have many #include files, use lint's -p option to get preprocessed code; run that through lint to make sure you can reproduce the problem, then email us the preprocessed code.
your name, company, address and email address

If you're using Version 8.00

Please make sure that you are using our latest patch and the most current .lnt files. Binary patches and .lnt files for PC-lint and FlexeLint Version 8.00 are available for download at Version 8.00 Patches. If you need the fpatch program to apply FlexeLint patches, send an email to sales at gimpel.com and include your FlexeLint serial number and company name and address and we'll email you the fpatch.c program.

We can no longer provide technical support for this version. For information on updating, see Version 8.00.
